The new issue of the magazine Contemporary Issues brings a unique perspective and in-depth\nunderstanding of the key issues that shape our contemporary society. From the digital revolution\nin the media industry to the complexity of political communication, from the challenges faced by\nyoung people to innovations in marketing communication and the overview of the launch of a new\nstudent radio, the papers in this issue represent a mosaic of contemporary social and technological\ntrends. Within this context the new issue brings six scientific articles and a book review.\nAna Mlinari\u0107 and Nikolina Bor\u010di\u0107 analyse political communication of Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, the President\nof the Republic of Serbia during a series of mass killings in 2023. The paper researches how this national\ntragedy affected the political crisis and the communication strategies of the person in the leading\npolitical position. Ivana Beki\u0107, Jadranka Ivankovi\u0107 and Manja \u017duti\u0107 investigate how generations Y and\nZ perceive and respond to the direct marketing communication offering an insight into the dynamics\nof marketing communication aimed at specific demographic groups. Domagoj Bebi\u0107 examines how\ndigitalization and the advances in the artificial intelligence technology are revolutionizing the creation\nof media content. The author points out how traditional approaches to content creation are changing\nwith the use of new tools paving the way for innovative methods of distribution and consumption.\nSilvia Londero \u0160imle\u0161a and Marko Brato\u0161 investigate different parameters necessary for the launch\nof student radio, analysing existing models and stressing the importance of student radio within the\nnon-profit radio sector while Valerija Botri\u0107 discusses the decrease of traditional forms of activation\nof young people in Croatian society with an emphasis on the impact of financial constraints. Her\npaper brings an in-depth insight into the challenges faced by young people and how this affects their\nparticipation in society.\nAll the papers in the new issue share a common link - the influence of the media. In this context,\nIrena Klepac Musta\u0107\u2019s paper provides an overview of scientific papers on the role of the media in the\nprocess of consultation with the public, especially within the framework of legislative and regulatory\nprocesses, offering an insight into the complex relationship between the media and the public.\nFinally, Marina Plantak presents the book Qualitative research in theory and practice by Bla\u017e Meseca\nand Tamara Rapa \u017dibern, evaluating its importance as a resource for researchers and practitioners\nwho use qualitative methods.\nEach of these papers provides an insight into various aspects of contemporary society and technology\nand fosters further thinking, discussion and research, which is the purpose of a scientific and\nprofessional magazine.
