In that context financial constraints potentially\naffecting youth participation are not explicitly analysed, but are\nincorporated within the youth socioeconomic status. This paper\nexplores to what extent youth themselves perceive financial constraints\nas important obstacle for more active participation in the society.\nThe results are based on focus groups and the field survey deployed\nduring the spring 2021. The research is focused on factors related to\nfinancial constraints, such as the characteristics of the households\nand the characteristics of the living area, but also the characteristics\nof the young persons. The results confirm that financial constraints\nare predominately identified in relation to activities associated with\nincreased expenditures, such as tourism, sports and music- related\nactivities.
